Some Seattle area bands with people I know:
- Altered States of Funk
Super-nasty funk (Got some pics from New
Years at the Fid's)
- Ari Zucker - A guitar player's
guitar player. Met Ari through Les at the Fid.
- Barbara Buckland - Barbara
is a tremendous and fabulous asset to the greater Seattle community.
Plus, she is just plain cool!
- Blu-ize - Mike Fleck is
an amazing finger picker on the acoustic and Galena is a superb singer!
Mike runs the Victory Music open mic at Alderwood on Sundays.
- Brad Yaeger -
Murder ballads on the autoharp.
- Cup of Nikki - Passionate
singing and songwriting. Nice Ibanez jazz guitar. Saw Nikki at the Trabant
Chai Lounge open mic.
- Ron Dalton - a master craftsman
of songwriting! Ron recorded and published his CD all on his own gear.
Ron is a Victory Music regular.
- PK Dwyer - original jump blues!
- Folk Voice - Traditional
European music. Ran into Birgit and Phil at Victory Music and Fiddler's
Open Mics.
- Hopscotch Boys - Currently
my favorite band!! Met these guys at Miss H's show at Conor Byrne. Artsy
and hip.
- Lewis/Lane - Guitar/vocal
duo performing quality tunes from the 70's and 80's and more. Sean Lewis
used to play bass guitar in the Sharx with old Jorge in Bellingham.
So he's cool!
- Deb Seymour - Demented. Witty.
Entertaining. A Victory Music regular.
- Supersones - Hot Cuban son.
They used to play at the Fid.
- Stanislove - American roots
music. Stan baited me with his surgically-sharp satire (eg, "Blond in
Bellevue") then set the hook deep with his passion and committment to
traditional American music. Seen him plenty at the Fiddler's Inn.
- Twelfth Planet - amazing songs and performance.
- Linda
Waterfall's Studio Singing Tips - These tips are consistent with
the singing lessons that I had from Maria Lujan de Peralta.
- Greg Wolf - This guy is
around town and has some very funny lyrics. Great busking style of performance
with accompaniment on guitar/mandolin/harp/percussion. Sometimes all
at once!
Some Seattle area recording studios:
- Soul Kitchen Studios - Digital experience for analog minds. Mark has attended AES meetings. North Seattle/Shoreline/Lake Forest Park.
- Tinderbox Productions
- Jaime has sold me pickups. North Seattle/Lake City.
- Mirror Sound Studios - Ken teaches recording classes through UW Experimental College and he also attends AES meetings. Shoreline.
